Linda has no interest in fame, but it keeps chasing her. Her mom is a social media influencer with no qualms about blasting family life online, and a baby picture of Linda once went viral and is used as a meme by millions of people every day. Linda just wants to live in peace, practice her parkour and mind her own business, without everybody knowing she is the infamous Potty Tot.

But now there is even more trouble ahead. Linda’s mom is competing for a spot on a new TV show, Mom Swap. Her sister Barbara is overjoyed, Dad is indifferent, and Linda’s objections go unheard. Looming on the horizon, a strange new mother, an exuberant TV producer, hovering drones watching their every move – and an artificial intelligence refrigerator with his own agenda.

To me, this is the perfect book for the whole family to enjoy.

An innovative story about children of the so-called influencers, heartfelt and sardonic at the same time. What is the price of privacy? Can it be measured with bar graphs and pie charts? To what extent are we going to let our smart devices control our lives?

The jury for the 2023 Icelandic Literary Prize.

Without ever becoming preachy, the story prompts questions about the social media use of both children and adults. … Lively discussions might arise if parents read the book alongside their children. Certainly the story’s sense of humour will be a hit for readers of any age.
